It is interesting that 'Myleene Klass' is an anagram of 'poncey attention whore who's personality is so dysfunctional that she can only value herself if people recognise her as famous'?

Re: Myleene Klass shames 'bonkers' parents for seeking birthday present donations
Mums at her kid's school have asked everyone to chip in for a Kindle instead of buying a present.

That's fine.

However, said mums have decided that the amount should be set at £10 each.

RUDENESS.

I really can't see a problem with this.

Your kid gets invited to a mates party so you send them along with a small present, for arguments sake a tenners worth.
If the mate wants something specific and their parent asks for the cash to contribute towards this, rather than receive a number of smaller presents, then fine stick a tenner in a card.

I've never had an issue with this and it can actually help the child appreciate the present a bit more.

But who the fuck are they to set an amount that people need to spend on a present?

Re: Myleene Klass shames 'bonkers' parents for seeking birthday present donations
In my experience no-one has ever specified an amount but, whilst I agree that it is a bit rude, I have also not known anyone to buy a present for less than a tenner anyway.

Ornchurch with my two the mum's at school got together to decide the going rate for presents at the start of the school year. It seems a bit extreme but it kinda worked!

Kids b-day parties seem a cunt these days. Does each and every kid normally bring a present? I don't recall doing that.

My cousin set up an amazon gift list for her husband's birthday a few years back which I thought was a bit weird. I didn't get him anything at all so it didn't really bother me, just thought it was odd.

Just heard Kirsty Allsopp & Toby Young banging on about this on Rad 4. Both knobs of the highest order. Good fun when Young accused Allsopp of sending her assistant out to get the presents. Allsopp & Klass both professional mums and can take the time to get a bleedin present for a kid. Such a pain so glad my 3 are too old for this. No problem with a whip round not so keen on setting a min amount tho.

I shall make sure my future kids have no mates. These Mum Mafias sound sick.
